SC Wave Player Expectations

On the field. Off the field. Always. Players are the heartbeat of SC Wave — these standards define who we are every day.

01

Represent SC Wave with pride.

Players are expected to represent SC Wave positively whether on the field or off the field.

02

Show respect to everyone.

Players will be respectful to coaches, players, parents, and officials — both within and outside the club.

03

Come ready to compete and grow.

Players are expected to come mentally prepared to compete at the highest level possible, with a mindset to grow and develop every time they are at an SC Wave session or game.

04

Be ready at start time — not arriving at start time.

Players are expected to be ready to start training at their scheduled time.

05

Arrive 10–15 minutes early.

Use this time to get touches on the ball — soccer tennis, juggling, passing, or 5 v 2. Not shooting or sitting around.

06

If you are late, take responsibility.

Players arriving late are responsible for contacting the relevant coach regarding the situation. Upon arrival, the player must have the correct gear on and be ready to jog to their respective field.

07

Wear proper SC Wave attire.

Players are expected to wear proper SC Wave attire for all training, games, and travel.

08

Dress for the weather.

Players are responsible for wearing proper attire to all SC Wave events that is weather-appropriate — training, games, and tournaments.

10

Bring enough fluids.

Players must bring an adequate amount of fluids for all events.

11

Pack your own gear — all of it.

Players are responsible for packing and bringing their own gear to all events, not the parents. This means bringing ALL uniform pieces regardless of which uniform is assigned for that day, in case we need to change due to color conflicts.

12

Use PlayMetrics for everything.

All players MUST use the PlayMetrics app for all team communication and updates.

13

Speak directly to your coach.

If a player has a concern, it is their responsibility to communicate with the coach for an open discussion.

14

Keep parents in the loop.

Players must have an open dialogue with parents regarding communication with coaches.

15

Once you arrive, focus on the team.

Once players arrive at an event, there should be no parent contact until after the event. Players should have come prepared with all necessary items prior to arrival — training, games, tournaments.

Players represent SC Wave both on and off the field. All players are to know and understand the expectations stated above. We will be as strong of a club as we are because of the committed players who play for us.

Hold yourself to the highest standard in everything you do — in soccer and in life.
